Reg Traviss, boyfriend of the late Amy Winehouse, has told the press that before her passing, the pair were talking seriously about getting married and what their wedding might be like. He explained that they never settled on a date, but that they both knew their futures were to be together. He added:

"Absolutely we had talked about getting married. It wasn't planned as in this date or that date, but it was a topic of conversation and had been for some time ... You might say we were halfway through a conversation in our life together and then, suddenly, she disappeared."

Guess that means they were secretly planning on getting married after all. No point in keeping it a secret now, we suppose.

Oh, so the site is an educational tool for young people not to use drugs. Lame.

Fortunately, the site doesn’t represent how most people probably feel, says Robert Thompson, a professor of popular culture at Syracuse University, because statistically speaking, the number of entries is insignificant when compared to gazillion people who use the web.

“It’s macabre and somewhat sick, I suppose,” Thompson said. “But we in an odd sort of way, we treat celebrities and talk about them in a way we would never talk about people that we know. They get categorized in this almost nonhuman sort of way, and we talk about them in mean-spirited ways, and we’ll take odds on their death…. All bets are off and all rules are moot.”

Amy Winehouse's past with drugs was well documented, but despite reports that drugs were to blame for her death, her family feels otherwise.

Instead, they believe a sudden abstinence from alcohol might have been what led to her untimely passing last Saturday at age 27, sources say.

Winehouse ignored doctors' advice to cut back gradually from her heavy drinking and went cold turkey in the past month, Britain's Sun reports.

Her official cause of death is still inconclusive, but her family believes that this decision simply caused too much of a shock to her fragile system.

"Abstinence gave her body such a fright, they thought it was eventually the cause of her death," says a source of Amy's effort to quit drinking.

Her father, Mitch Winehouse, said in a eulogy at his daughter's funeral that he believed it was the opposite of a bender that took his daughter.

"He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid binging at all costs. Amy told him she couldn't do that."

"It was all or nothing and she gave up completely," says the source.

"Mitch said the shock of giving all that up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take."

Blake Fielder-Civil claims he could have saved her. Ironically, if the cause of her demise really was withdrawal, the junkie might be correct.

The Metropolitan Police released a statement, noting that London Ambulance Service notified police Saturday afternoon. It appears that resuscitation services were not performed, but that has not been confirmed. It’s unknown if her father, Mitchell Winehouse, has been notified of her passing.

In 2009, ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil told the Sun (full story at NME) about his near-death experience with Winehouse: “I knelt over her as she kept on fitting. But then suddenly she just passed out and stopped breathing,” he said. “It was the most frightening thing I had ever seen. I felt sure I was watching her die right in front of me. I didn’t know what to do or how to save her. I held her to me – and I thought she was dying in my arms. But somehow I managed to open her mouth and breathe air down her throat.”

Earlier this year, the singer cancelled the rest of her European tour around Serbia, in response to a very poor performance in Belgrade, where she stumbled through her set, missing key points and notes onstage. More recently, Winehouse had been seen with her 15-year-old goddaughter and soul-singer Dionne Bromfield, also signed to Winehouse’s Lioness Records label, at the iTunes festival at the Roundhouse in London. While she didnt perform, it was a rare sighting regardless, as she was there to watch over Bromfield as she supported the boy band The Wanted.

Winehouse made her debut album, Frank, in 2003. Her follow-up 2006 album, Back to Black, brought her six Grammy nominations; she took home five wins, becoming the first UK artist to win five Grammys. Since then, she had enjoyed a strong following and musical growth, appearing on songs with everyone from Mark Ronson to rapper Wale. Sadly, her off-stage struggle with drugs and alcohol, and a revolving door with rehab clinics, continued to compete with her musical headlines, and these issues will likely swirl rumors about her death until the official cause is reported to the public by police investigators.

Wino told friends, regarding Blake's dalliances: "So what? I like girls as well. I have had relationships with women but that doesn't mean I don't love Blake."

Oookay. She added: "Something about being with a woman is very satisfying. I don't care what people think about me being bi - I just do what feels good."

Despite this declaration of sexual freedom, Winehouse is said to be livid with Blake Fielder-Civil over stories linking him to a male Wino lookalike named Mia.

Just when you thought Amy Winehouse gossip couldn't get any weirder ...

"It is embarrassing. I knew this girl. She used to stand outside my house all the time. I even spoke to her on the phone telling her to keep away," she said.

"[Blake] had even told me she was hassling him. He can't keep doing this to me. But I don't judge him for it - everyone has their own sexual desires."

Sound logic. Last night, a friend of confirmed that Amy, who's supposedly engaged to Blake again, is indeed bisexual, and consented to her speaking out.

"There is nothing restrained about Amy's sexuality," said the pal, noting that Wino has a crush on X Factor judge Cheryl Cole. "She doesn't hold back."

"She says what she feels. She often talks about other women. Most women can appreciate another's beauty but Amy definitely takes that to the next level."

Despite their recent divorce, his apparent links to that guy Mia and his secret proposal to Sarah Aspin in rehab, Blake is still "The One" for Amy, however.

"Right now, she's absolutely devastated," the pal said. "Deluded or not, Amy genuinely believes her and Blake are a fairytale who will end up together one day."

The soul diva pleaded guilty Wednesday to assaulting a theater manager who asked her to leave a family Christmas show starring Mickey Rooney because she had too much to drink.

The singer, whose scrapes with the law often overshadow her music, was given a fine and a warning to stay out of trouble by a judge who praised her for trying to clean up her act.

District Judge Peter Crabtree ordered Winehouse to pay her victim 185 pounds ($300) in costs and compensation, and handed down a conditional discharge, meaning the singer will avoid further punishment as long as she does not commit any more offenses for two years.

“(That) may be harder than a fine, because you have now got to stay on the straight and narrow for the next two years,” the judge said.

“If you commit another offense you’ll be hit hard and you’ll be hit twice,” he said.

A scrum of photographers met media-magnet Winehouse as she arrived at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court, 50 miles north of London, dressed in a white shirt and dark skirt with her beehive hair piled high.

The 26-year-old singer admitted charges of disorder and common assault during a Dec. 19 performance of the pantomime “Cinderella,” in which 89-year-old Rooney played the heroine’s father, Baron Hardup. The petite singer had earlier admitted drinking five vodka and cola drinks before the show.

Audiences at British pantomimes — a popular form of seasonal variety show incorporating fairy-tale plots, slapstick humor, cross-dressing and music — are traditionally rambunctious and are encouraged to shout at the stage and join in with the songs. But prosecutors said Winehouse’s behavior went beyond the usual audience participation.

Prosecution lawyer Julian Vickery said Winehouse had been “raising her voice in the spirit of the pantomime” during the show at Milton Keynes Theater. She “accepted in interview that some members of the audience may have found her disorderly,” and one had asked her to be quiet, he said.

The attorney said Winehouse was moved to a private box for the second half of the show, but later left the auditorium to go to the toilet and, passing the bar, asked manager Richard Pound for a double vodka and Coke. Vickery said Winehouse felt “hurt, embarrassed and patronized” when Pound suggested she have a glass of water instead and then asked her to leave because she had had too much to drink.

He said Winehouse “with no premeditation, grabbed his hair and pulled.” She also was overheard muttering obscenities.

The judge said it was “obvious that alcohol played its part” in the incident. He said a medical report showed the singer had since tried to curb her drinking.

“You clearly have taken effort from this report to address your alcohol problems and any other problems you may have, so you get credit for that,” the judge said.

Defense lawyer Paul Morris said Winehouse had made “huge changes” to her lifestyle.

Winehouse had been charged under her married name, Amy Civil, after reporting to a police station Dec. 23.

The singer shot to stardom with the Grammy-winning album “Back to Black” in 2006, but her music has been overshadowed by drug use, legal run-ins and a tempestuous marriage that ended in divorce last year.

Since her divorce from Blake Fielder-Civil in July, Winehouse has kept a lower profile, spending several months in St. Lucia and then moving from London’s nightlife hub of Camden to the quiet suburb of Barnet.

She recently has been back in the recording studio, raising fan hopes of a follow-up to “Back to Black.”

Last July she was acquitted of assaulting a fan who asked to take her picture after a charity ball. The judge said he could not be sure the blow had been deliberate.

After Wednesday’s hearing, local police superintendent Simon Eatwell warned that celebrity disorder would not be allowed in Milton Keynes, a busy “new town” of 200,000 people, largely developed since the 1960s.

“Milton Keynes has a very safe nighttime economy,” he said. “We will not tolerate incidents of public disorder and will always deal with them robustly.”
