Anderson Cooper Takes Swipe at Chris Brown, Rom-Com Role

Deservedly or not, Chris Brown continues to bear the brunt of media scrutiny over an event that took place almost 2.5 years ago now. Case in point:

He got a role in a romantic comedy. Good for him, right? Sure, but Anderson Cooper still took a shot at him and referenced the Rihanna incident.

"Ladies and gentlemen, particularly ladies, Chris Brown has been cast in a movie. And not just any movie, it's a romantic comedy based on a self-help book about relationships," Cooper said recently on CNN's AC 360.

"And I, for one, can not imagine why this did not happen sooner because if there's one thing you can say about Chris Brown, who's currently on probation for viciously assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, he just oozes romance."

Ouch.

Cooper went on to point out one of Brown's early YouTube apologies to Rihanna and fans as another point of conflict. To Chris' credit, he responded to the CNN anchor's comments on Twitter in the best possible way.

"I guess people need ratings!" Brown wrote. "Lol! It's cool. Much Love."

Wow. If he acts like that more often, people really will leave him alone! He can be taught! As for the movie, it is called Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, a film adaptation of Steve Harvey's bestselling book of the same name.

Production is already underway in Los Angeles and the film is slated to hit theaters in April 2012. BET first reported Chris getting the role.

Lindsay Lohan Up for Role in ‘Superman’ Movie

She dressed up like a superhero in a Complex magazine shoot last year.

Now a source close to Lindsay Lohan said the troubled actress will audition for a role in director Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Superman” reboot this week, Radar Online reported Monday.

“Lindsay plans to return from New York on Wednesday and meet with producers and read with an actor who is up for the role of Lex Luthor,” the source said.

Lohan, 24, would reportedly be reading for a role as a villain. That means she could be auditioning for the rule of Miss Teschmacher, Luthor’s sexy accomplice, played in the 1978 original by Valerie Perrine.

The “Mean Girls” star will go on trial for felony grand theft this month. She is charged with one count of felony grand theft for allegedly walking out of a jewelry boutique without paying for a $2,500 gold necklace on Jan. 22 in Venice, Calif.

On March 23, Lohan rejected a plea deal that would include a 90-day jail sentence and opted to take her chances at a trial. If found guilty at the trial, she will likely be sentenced to jail. A source close to the “Superman” production said Lohan’s potential jail time “almost certainly would coincide with the production schedule.”

If cast in the “Superman” reboot, Lohan would join a cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.

Lohan has also reportedly been offered a role as Sharon Tate, the actress who was murdered by followers of Charles Manson in 1969, in an upcoming movie about Manson, according to TMZ.

Survivor: Nicaragua winner Judson Birza, aka Fabio, makes his acting debut in the upcoming homoerotic slasher film 1313: Nightmare Mansion. It’s really, really, really, really, really, really bad. So don’t even watch the trailer. I just felt obliged to put it out there for my fellow Survivor fans and Fabio lovers. I’m glad he won the million..but no one should ever have to watch this noise. Surely this isn’t what he invested his money in?

Writes Reality Blurred: “Fabio and his fellow cast members spend a large part of the movie in white briefs, which is a good distraction from the absolutely scary acting and writing (‘Where did my clothes go?’).”

Add this movie to your must see list. Not only is my new boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal naked and to die for in this flick…Anne Hathaway delivers a performance that is already generating lots of Oscar buzz.

Jake and Anne looked adorable at the NY premiere of Love and other Drugs. I’m sure she’s going to get slammed for this retro dress but I think she totally makes it work.

She looks like a gorgeous 1960’s Christmas decoration.

Charlize Theron for Princess Diana role?

Charlize Theron could be set to play Princess Diana in a Hollywood movie.

The South African-born actress is being lined up for the role, which tells the tale of the princess’ relationship with former bodyguard Ken Wharfe, who is to be played by Ewan McGregor.

The movie will be produced by BAFTA award-winning Stephen Evans, who wants to make a film based on Wharfe’s controversial book ‘Diana: Closely Guarded Secret’, detailing the eight years he spent with the princess – who died in 1997 – as her personal protection officer.

Yesterday it emerged that film company Pathe are hoping to make their own biopic of the princess with Keira Knightley in the lead role.

Pathe are hoping for a 2011 release to mark what would have been the princess’ 50th birthday.

An insider told the Daily Mail: “There’s a buzz about this. Pathe also made ‘The Duchess’, which starred Keira as Georgiana, the fifth Duchess of Devonshire – the great-great-great-great aunt of Diana – and controversially used an image of Diana to trail the movie.

“They believe the footage made the film a big hit in America where Diana still has a loyal following.”

Meanwhile, Dame Helen Mirren – who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth in 2006 film ‘The Queen’ – has been named as a potential actress to play Diana’s mother Francis Shand Kydd.
