President Barack Obama pardoned a turkey named Liberty at the White House today. But, as you know, most birds are not so lucky, even when politicians are nearby.

Just a few years back, in fact, one committed a major party fowl.

In this classic video from Thanksgiving 2008, then-Governor Pain pardoned a turkey and gave an interview with a local news station ... during which things went awry.

Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, denounced Joe McGinniss' new book about Alaska's most famous family as "disgusting lies, innuendo and smears" in a statement.

The former governor's camp is looking to discredit the biography - a racy, detailed, provocative tell-all, even as Palin gossip goes - which is due out next week.

Todd Palin slammed The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, specifically denying that his business partner Brad Hanson had an affair with his wife.

The part about Glen Rice nailing Sarah Palin, sadly, went unmentioned by Todd.

Todd Palin wrote of McGinniss:

"This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in next door to harass and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife." 

"His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo and smears. Even The New York Times called this book 'dated, petty,' and that it 'chases caustic, unsubstantiated gossip.'"

Hang on ... the Palins read The New York Times?

The 2008 GOP VP nominee has yet to comment. Last year, she wrote of McGinniss: "Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden and the family's swimming hole?"

McGinniss, who rented the house next door to the Palins while writing the work, defended his reporting in an interview on the Today show.

"I think I was as fair as I could have been given the fact that she told all the people who were closest to her not to talk to me," he said.

Of all the claims he makes, the allegations that Sarah Palin carried on an affair with Brad Hanson have clearly ruffled the most feathers.

Hanson again denied the allegation in a statement:

"This is the same old story that went around in 2008. It is a complete and outright lie," Hanson said. "Todd and Sarah Palin have been good friends for many years, and in fact we still own property together."

"We sold a former joint business venture for business reasons, nothing more. These attacks are shameful and those making them seem to be out only to destroy good people and make money doing so."

As for Sarah snorting coke off of oil drums, that may or may not have taken place. We have no idea. But thank you Joe for the hilarious visual.

Move over, Hangover! Peace out, Pirates! The REAL summer blockbuster is coming this July…and it will ONLY be playing At AMC Theaters! LOLz!

Last month, we learned that Sarah Palin is releasing an "epic" biopic about herself in two versions: an "unrated edition [which] will contain some obscene anti-Palin language and imagery, while the other is targeted to a general audience and will seek a PG-13 MPAA rating."

Now, we've learned that the film, titled The Undefeated, will play exclusively at AMC Theaters starting July 15 in the following select cities:

Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, and Kansas City

Much like Paranormal Activity, the public will "be able to vote for more theater locations," BUT will this movie be as scary as Paranormal Activity??? Ha!

“I feel so bad for his children. It must be quite embarrassing for them, and, you know, it’s an irresponsible and really a pretty disgusting thing that he did, pretty much denying that he had a child for 10 years. That’s how I look at it. It speaks to his character. It’s sad.”

Spot on, Sarah.

But, don't lose your shizz over this. Just because we agree about another man's infidelity doesn't mean we're endorsing you. Keep your cool!

Julianne Moore is set to play former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in an upcoming TV film.

HBO Films said Wednesday that Moore will star in the film “Game Change,” which follows John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign from when he chose Palin as his running mate through their defeat in the general election.

The film is based on the bestselling book of the same name.

No other cast members were announced, and HBO did not say when production on the film might begin. Moore is a four-time Academy Award nominee. Last year, she starred in the critically acclaimed film, “The Kids Are All Right.”

In an excerpt of an ABC News interview released Wednesday, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee says she’s considering a presidential run. When asked directly if she thought she could defeat Obama, the former Alaska governor replied, “I believe so.”

An Associated Press-GfK poll earlier this month found Palin the most polarizing of the potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates. The poll says 46 percent of Americans view her favorably, 49 percent unfavorably, and 5 percent don’t know enough about her to form an opinion.

Yet among adults who identify themselves as Republicans or GOP-leaning independents, 79 percent view her favorably.

Kate Gosselin and her brood are currently Alaska to film TLC's Kate Plus 8. Rumor has it they've got a camping trip planned up north with the most famous Alaskan!

Sarah Palin will be making a guest appearance, according to reports.

The Gosselins were spotted in Anchorage Thursday and Friday. The kids had fun, but it's all about the Kate Plus 8 ratings - and two pop culture phenoms colliding.

The Dancing With the Stars alum is slated to meet with former Governor Sarah Palin for a camping excursion that will be shown on the series. Words fail us now.

During their stay, the Pennsylvanians will also be receiving a hands-on natural history lesson from Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, and Sarah's brother, Chuck Jr.

Both Chucks are school teachers in America's 49th state.

TLC-YA THERE: The Palins will welcome the Gosselins to Alaska!

"She's excited because it will be fun and educational for the children. Sarah will even teach Kate how to avoid bears!" the source told In Touch about Palin.

Valuable life lessons for the kiddos, for sure. We just hope they don't bring in Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin to offer tips on how to avoid teen pregnancy.

Palin's representatives referred reporters to TLC when contacted about the In Touch report, while the network subsequently stated that it had no comment.

While not officially confirmed her appearance would make some sense, given that it offers a nice tie-in with Sarah Palin's Alaska, which TLC landed in March.

The eight-episode documentary series will feature the former V.P. nominee spotlighting various facets of Alaskan life, and is being produced by Mark Burnett.

We await the announcement of the Palin/Gosselin 2012 ticket.

Bristol Palin says her acting debut on last night's episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager was probably her last venture into that career field.

But don't expect her to line up any more acting gigs in the future.

Asked if she wants to pursue an entertainment career after her debut effort, she says, "Not acting. I like doing speaking engagements and stuff like that."

"Right now I'm just focused on raising Tripp," Bristol Palin adds.

The 19-year-old mother of 1 1/2-year-old son Tripp, whose father Levi Johnston, says she was happy to film the episode of The Secret Life just the same.

She appears as a friend of Amy (Shailene Woodley) at a music program for teen moms in NYC: "I didn’t have many lines or anything like that," says Palin.

"I just hope that this show opens up a dialogue between parents and teens - and teens amongst themselves - about the consequences of teen pregnancy."

Is she discouraging or promoting teen pregnancy?
