Since that’s not going to happen anytime soon…and the huge army of kids in Brangelina-land are getting impatient and because Brad has been nominated for an Oscar for Moneyball and a wedding would be MAJOR for him right now…we could be seeing a Nambian wedding any day now.

“We’d actually like to, and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.

I’m not going to go any further. But to be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous.”

During a Los Angeles Times forum, comedy producer/director Judd Apatow said that the thinks there should be a separate category for comedy at the Oscars:

"It doesn’t seem like it’s screwing up Schindler’s List for Hangover to have its own category. Since comedies are rarely up for Oscars, it does make sense to have a comedy category. It would just add more fun categories."

Given the fact that the Oscars made the decision to allow ten nominees for Best Picture recently, we actually don't see any reason why they couldn't do this as well!

Maybe if they hurry up, they can add this category in time for Bridesmaids to snag a Best Comedy award! You'd like that, wouldn't U Judd? LOLz!

Judd Apatow Thinks Comedy Should Have Its Own Oscar Category is a post from: Uberbitching Latest Hollywood Gossip

The Oscar results were satisfying and the winners well-deserved. Bringing home a nice group of gold statuettes was The King’s Speech, clocking in with four wins.

Internationally-known graffiti artist and Exit Through the Gift Shop filmmaker Banksy lost out in the Best Documentary Feature category to Charles Ferguson and Audrey Marrs with Inside Job.

Melissa Leo (The Fighter) was the favorite for Best Supporting Actress, and she had fierce competition but ended up with the award. Expressing complete shock, Leo was fighting back tears as she gave her acceptance speech. At one point, she looked up in awe and said, “Golly, there’s people up there too?”

Christian Bale snatched Best Supporting Actor for his role as the crack-addicted, has-been boxer Dicky Eklund in The Fighter. Bale thanked many, including his daughter, as he said she “has taught me more than I can teach her.”

Natalie Portman took home the award for Best Actress for her riveting performance as Nina in Black Swan. She was ecstatic, accepting the award teary-eyed, as she took the time to mention the unsung heroes that assisted her in the role that she knocked out of the park.

For Best Actor, Colin Firth (The King’s Speech) rightfully took home his well-deserved Academy Award. No surprises here and not too many people wanted one. Firth played the stuttering, shaky, compassionate King George VI to perfection.

Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) and David Fincher (The Social Network) were the top favorites for Best Director, but Hooper swept the award away tonight. Out of the many thanks he gave, he acknowledged his mother for influencing him to take on the task of directing The King’s Speech and ended his time on stage saying, “The moral of the story is listen to your mother.”

The race for Best Picture was a close match between the two main heavyweights— The King’s Speech and The Social Network—though there was no real lock in this category. The winner was The King’s Speech, which lost the Golden Globe Best Motion Picture Drama to The Social Network.

The ‘127 Hours’ star – who received a critical drubbing for his performance alongside Anne Hathaway at last night’s (27.02.11) show – had planned to throw an exclusive party at the Supper Club after the ceremony but instead left Los Angeles straight away.

A source revealed while some stars – including Seth Rogen, Kevin Spacey and actors from TV show ‘90210′ were all in attendance the party was a “bust”.

However James, 32, – who is studying at both Yale and New York Universities – took to his twitter account to explain his absence, claiming he had to return to classes.

He wrote: “Goodbye L.A.. It was fun! Time to head back to class.”

Industry bible The Hollywood Reporter had slammed the star as seeming “distant” and “uninterested” in proceedings at the event at the Kodak Theatre last night.

Writer Tim Franco said: “Anne Hathaway at least tried to sing and dance and preen along to the goings on, but Franco seemed distant, uninterested and content to keep his Cheshire-cat-meets-smug smile on display throughout.

“What was the point, Academy? What did Franco bring to the table? His appearance played more like one of his performance art pieces than an actual attempt to be host.

“A bad and risky idea, letting two actors host, proved out in spectacularly unwatchable fashion on the biggest of all nights for the film world.”

It’s true that Martin Scorsese is a huge fan (the two just announced another team-up, The Wolf of Wall Street). And it’s true that Leo is absent from this year’s Oscar ballot.

But do you think that a vote for, say, Forest Whitaker (who killed it in 2006’s The Last King of Scotland) meant “hate” for DiCaprio? I think I hear your mom calling.

Now, let the adults sort out Leo’s awards season woes:

Because even if Oscar voters don’t “hate” Leo—and, really, grow up—they sure haven’t voted for him.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has nominated him three times, for Blood Diamond, The Aviator and as a supporting actor in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. No statuette.

So why has he never won? And why no nominations for Shutter Island, Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, Romeo + Juliet, The Basketball Diaries, Revolutionary Road, Inception? (I refuse to say Titanic.)

“Poor Leo has had lousy Oscar luck,” says Tom O’Neil, who heads the awards-race blog Gold Derby. “He would’ve won four years ago if he’d been nominated for the right film, but he had two rival roles in the running and he got nominated for wrong one—Blood Diamond.

“It’s his own fault,” O’Neil explains. “If he’d agreed to campaign in lead for The Departed instead of supporting, he would’ve been nominated for that instead and probably would’ve won, riding its Best Picture sweep.”
