On GaGa's relationship with gay men:

It seems genuine. It seems natural, and I can see why she has a young gay following. I can see that they connect to her kind of not fitting into the conventional norm. I mean, she’s not Britney Spears. She’s not built like a brick shithouse. She seems to have had a challenging upbringing, and so I can see where she would also have that kind of connection, a symbiotic relationship with gay men.

On the media and its effects:

When people are writing about you in the beginning and they’re saying nice things, you’re like, ‘Oh!’ You feel this lift of energy. Then they say bad things, and of course, you’re affected by that too. I don’t really dwell on it anymore. I used to be kind of fixated on it and think, It’s not fair, it’s not fair, it’s not fair, but it is what it is, and I just have to get on with my life.

On the haters:

If you are threatened by me as a female or you think I’m doing too much or saying too much or being too much of a provocateur, then no matter how great of a song I write or how amazing of a film I make, you’re not going to allow yourself to enjoy it, because you’re going to be too entrenched in being angry with me or putting me in my place or punishing me.

On mothering:

I’m a strict mother. My daughter doesn’t know why I won’t allow her to get everything pierced or a tattoo or dye her hair blond on the tips and pink at the roots. They just really want me to just be Mom and be normal, and don’t show up dressed in any outlandish way. Just come to school, do the parent-teacher meetings. I can’t even wear a tracksuit. That attracts attention too. You know, they don’t really want to see me as a famous person or a celebrity or somebody. They don’t get it right now. They think I’m a little quirky.

On W.E.:

Like Wallis Simpson, I felt like an outsider. I thought, Life is so different here, and I’m used to being a New Yorker, and I have to learn how to drive on the other side of the road. Suddenly, I found myself living out in an English country house and trying to find my way in this world, so I decided to really take it on and do research and find out about English history and learn about the royal family.

Lady Gaga's officially going public with boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

With a series of just-released photos in which she makes no attempt to hide her affection, the 25-year-old is finally acknowledging what we've known for months: She and The Vampire Diaries' Taylor Kinney are an item, and a cute one at that.

Sources say they're taking it slow, but definitely going strong.

Gaga, who first met Kinney on the set of her "You and I" music video (below) when he starred as her love interest and makeout partner, casually slung her arm over her boyfriend's shoulder as they strolled along a California beach.

While the pair appear cozy and are getting along fabulously, a source close to Gaga insists they're not super serious - mostly because of the strains of her career.

"They're hooking up and getting to know each other," explains the insider. "Gaga can't be too committed because she works 24/7. But she thinks he's the best!"

Good to hear. Let's just hope they make time for each other!

Katy Perry is gracing the cover of this month's Nylon magazine, and she not only spills the deets on her new tunes and Russell Brand, but she gives her thoughts on her partners in pop music - including GaGaloo, Ke$ha, Rihanna and Taylor Swift!!

On differentiating herself from the other pop princesses:
"You've got GaGa, who's like, from outer space; you've got Ke$ha, who's the beer-drinking, house-party girl; and then you've got Rihanna, who's transforming the urban world into her own outer space. But I feel like you're missing an Alanis Morissette, in 2010. I love how she was a voice for a lot of people who couldn't explain their feelings. But it's not like I'm not gonna compete. I love a good dose of healthy competition. It's not going to be the same that they're doing…"

On how she's really just Taylor Swift:
"Sometimes I really feel like I'm more of a Taylor Swift. She tells stories, and I think that's why she resonates with a lot of people. She hits the hidden chord in them [where they say], 'Oh my God, I've been through that too,' or 'You said it in a way I could never explain.'"

On how she had to go through the five stages of GaGa to reach OBSESSION:
"When I heard The Fame Monster, I was like, 'What the fuck is she talking about - teeth and he ate my heart and monster and dance in the dark and shit?' I thought she was such a shock jock. This holiday weekend, Thanksgiving in the US, the most outrageous pop star in the world will go home to her parents’ house on the wealthy Upper West Side of Manhattan and stay in her childhood bedroom. ‘She still doesn’t have her own place in the city,’ one longtime friend tells The Post. ‘She and her family are very tight.’The ABC special, “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving,” premieres Thursday night and shows the 25-year-old in the kitchen serving up dishes inspired by her Italian heritage.

For her feast, Gaga enlisted celebrity chef Art Smith to remake old family recipes.

On a side note, it was just recently learned that Lady Gaga gives her dad 50% of her earnings. That hasn’t happened since Elvis.

Her adoration for her father is unconditional. She once told Elle magazine: ‘I’m married to my dad.’

And after Father’s day she told Vanity Fair magazine: ‘I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’ve been in my father’s arms for two weeks, wishing [him] a Happy Father’s Day.’

Though friends describe Gaga as equally close with her outgoing, elegant mom, her primary relationship seems to be with her dad.Joe Germanotta made his fortune in hotel Wi-Fi, becoming wealthy enough to buy a duplex on the Upper West Side and send his daughters to the Convent of the Sacred Heart private school.

Joe has been Gaga’s number one supporter throughout her career. When she told her father of her plans for worldwide pop superstardom he used his money and connections to hire the best producers, to book studio time and to get Stefani in the room with record executives. In 2005, when she decided to drop out of NYU in her freshman year, Joe agreed to bankroll her for 12 months, paying the rent on her tiny fifth-floor walk-up on the Lower East Side and hauling her furniture up the stairs.

‘He is my hero,’ she has said.

It sounds like Lady Gaga is just a nice normal girl who grew up in a loving home with supportive parents that raised her with enough self confidence and initiative to be successful. Maybe that’s why she seems so odd to us. We aren’t used to celebrities and people who crave the spotlight as normal American dreamers. They are usually busted and broken and needing attention. Definitely much more interesting than football.

What's it like to grow up in an apartment with Lady Gaga?

Teen Vogue asked Natali Germanotta, 19, all about it!

While Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) is a lot less subdued than her younger sister, who studies fashion at Parsons in New York City, they're cut from the same cloth.

Natali may not rock meat dresses or embody male alter egos like Jo Calderone, but she does dress unusually, often in mostly black uniform she calls "witchypoo."

As for her sister, whom she calls "Stefi," L'il Gaga says she wouldn't go there herself: "Some of the stuff she wears I'd be like, 'No, never,'" she says.

Germanotta, an aspiring fashion designer, hasn't asked her sister to pull any strings for her. Gaga does that all on her own, in her larger than life way.

Remember when she turned a shoe her sister made for a school project into a piano she played for a performance on Oprah? Yeah. That happened.

"I was at my parents' house sobbing, like, 'Oh my God,'" Natali recalled.

Although Germanotta says she may work one day Lady Gaga's personal stylist, she fears it may be exhausting: "She changes 50 times a day!"

Natali says she's not living in her sister's shadow, not even after Gaga attended her high school graduation in a freaking beekeeper's hat with netting.

In fact, Natali says that part was actually her idea.

"The teachers were like, 'Oh my God, I can't handle this family,'" she says. "[Stefi] asked me, 'Should I dress really conservative and not look like myself, or should I do it over-the-top and freak everybody out?'"

"And I was like, 'The latter, definitely the latter.'"

TWO GAGAS: Little sis with big sis ... aww!!!

In addition to the traditional younger-sibling-lenience, Gaga's bombastic getups definitely help Natali off the hook with the parents sometimes, too.

When her dad gives her a hard time, "I say, 'Well, at least I'm not walking out on the street with red pasties,' and he'll be like, 'Good point.'"

Natali also brought a tiny lizard along to her interview with Teen Vogue. If that doesn't sum up this family right there, we don't know what will.

Lady GaGa was in high school when the attacks happened 10 years ago, and here's what she remembers:

"I mean, there's so many stories that people don't know. I watched the towers fall from the roof of my school, holding all my best friends. I don't know ... just, my affinity and my love and the relationship I have with New York City — it's like the husband I never married."

GaGa has always felt a powerful connection to her hometown, and it's no wonder. It shows up everywhere in her work:

"Well, this is how I get home; my leather jacket's like my Dorothy slippers. ... That's why I changed when we sat down. You said, 'I want to ask you about New York,' and I said, 'You'd better get my leather.' I wrote so many songs on this new album [Born This Way] about New York City. I mean, every song on all my albums has some relationship to New York City, but one in particular 'Marry the Night,' that record is about my husband, New York."

We don't doubt your love for your city. And we all remember where we were that day, even if we weren't all on a rooftop in the city itself.

We love NYC so much. We remember those lost, and have infinite respect for those who could carry on to keep it just as amazing today for those who gave their lives that day.
