]]> This is an interesting directing choice!

Back in May, Stephen King opened up about the upcoming Carrie remake, and he suggested both David Cronenberg and David Lynch as good choices to direct.

While we agreed that the Davids would both be good for the job, it looks like MGM/Screen Gems has decided to go with Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Peirce instead.

Peirce is currently in talks for the directing gig, and while we'd probably still lean towards Team Davids if given the choice...we're inclined to approve of this director choice as well.

Now the REAL question is...will Lindsay Lohan get cast as Carrie?!?!?!?!?!?

A man in Connecticut had a simple dream -- to become a cop. But unfortunately for him, he's too smart! Sorry buddy, you're just too---wait, what!?! Seriously?? Really??

According to Robert Jordan, he was rejected from the badge because he tested too high on his intelligence test. ...huh?

He sued for discrimination, but he lost after the court ruled "the same standards were applied to him as everyone else."

He says:

This kind of puts an official face on discrimination in America against people of a certain class. I maintain you have no more control over your basic intelligence than your eye color or your gender or anything else.

But according to the police, those with too high an IQ could easily become bored after pricey training and leave.

Sooo basically, if you're living in New London for sure (and wherever else this is practiced), don't plan on talking advanced quantum physics with the next cop who pulls you over...

A federal court in Riverside, California, ruled Thursday that the military's discriminatory "don't ask, don't tell" policy, which prohibits lesbians and gay men
from serving openly in the armed forces, is unconstitutional!

U.S. district judge Virginia A. Phillips wrote in the 86-page opinion handed down late Thursday that the DADT statute violates the Fifth and First amendments.

AMAZING!!!!!

Phillips said the policy doesn't help military readiness and instead has a "direct and deleterious effect" on the armed services.

Government lawyers argued that Phillips lacked the authority to issue a nationwide injunction and Congress should decide the policy's fate.

The U.S. House voted in May to repeal the policy, and the Senate is expected to address the issue this summer.
