Earlier this week, South Korean customs officials made the announcement that they've arrested eight men who schemed to smuggle gold out of the country...in their rectums!

Apparently, the men were able to transform $260,000 worth of gold bars into "small beads" and they smuggled it all across the border TWICE in 2010, in an effort to avoid import taxes! Wow!

We're hearing that the men were caught by Japanese customs officials during their second job, but they were only given fines at the time.

Now, South Korean officials have gathered evidence and they've gotten the smugglers to admit to their crimes.

Let's just hope their rectums fare better in jail...

Federal Aviation Administrator Randy Babbitt has resigned from his position after being arrested for DUI over the weekend in Washington.

Here's what Babbitt had to say about his decision to resign in a statement:

"...I am unwilling to let anything cast a shadow on the outstanding work done 24 hours a day, seven days a week by my colleagues at the FAA."

And here's what Babbitt's boss, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, had to say about it:

"I'm proud to say that we have the safest aviation system in the world, and thanks to Randy's stewardship, it became safer and stronger. He worked tirelessly to improve relations with the labor community and bolstered employee engagement among his 49,000 colleagues at the FAA."

Deputy Administrator Michael Huerta has taken over Babbitt's position, and he's expected to continue in that role through next year.

We're glad to hear that the FAA has found a replacement, but we were disturbed to hear that Randy Babbitt reportedly co-piloted a flight on Monday, which is less than TWO days after his DUI arrest.

That doesn't sit well with us at all. Let's keep him away from airplanes for a bit, while he gets himself together, please.

Who knew Anthony Michael Hall had a wild, aggressive streak?

After screaming obscenities, challenging people to fights in the street, tearing up plants, yelling at people and generally making his condo complex an unpleasant place, the irate actor was arrested by one of his neighbors in Playa del Ray, Ca.

Hall's neighbor made a citizen's arrest, then called in the LAPD.

According to reports, the actor has often been seen acting aggressive outside of his unit, cursing at people who happen to be walk by, flipping them off and even attempting to squirt people with a hose ... for no apparent reason.

Several neighbors complained to the housing association but no action had been taken against The Breakfast Club and Weird Science star.

One person tells us, "I have considered buying a gun to stay safe from Hall ... he's the scariest person I've ever encountered in my life."

Fear that comes from a very real place, according to Daniel who recounted the many times Joanne has threatened to kill him in front of their kids.

Now, we're hearing that Joanne has been picked up for probation violation. She was nabbed somewhere in the Portland area, without many specifics or what spurred the arrest:

"...a booking sheet says she's being held for, "PROBATION VIOLATION DRIVING UNDER INFL OF INTOX."

If she got busted for a DUI, that isn't a new thing for her, as Daniel stated she's been picked up multiple times for DUIs at the same time he spoke about her violent behavior.

We just hope that she can find a way to get better, but she sounds really troubled. We also hope that Daniel and the kids can get through this.

Rainford, 36, is accused of violating a January court order to stay 200 yards away from any property of the heiress. The restraining order came after Rainford made it past property guards on his bike and pounded on Hilton’s door. He pleaded no contest in January, and was given three years probation.

Rainford is being held in leiu of $20,000 bail after being taken into custody on a tip from a passerby on a Malibu beach near Hilton’s home. “He was hanging around on the beach while Paris was inside,” a witness told The Daily Mail. “Someone recognized him as being the man who had given her trouble in the past and the cops arrived pretty quickly.”

“Deputies identified the suspect as James Rainford and determined a valid restraining order prohibiting him from being within 200 yards of Miss Hilton or her residence was in effect,” the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

Rainford was sentenced to jail in April after pleading no contest to assaulting Cy Waits, Hilton’s former boyfriend, outside a Los Angeles courtroom. He served 24 days of a 227 sentence.

Among those arrested was alleged La Cosa Nostra “underboss” Joseph Massamino, according to Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer.

The suspects were named in a 50-count indictment unsealed in Philadelphia. The indictment charges the defendants with witness tampering, extortion, loan sharking and gambling. The suspects displayed “all the hallmarks of organized criminal activity,” Breuer said in a news conference in Philadelphia. He cited secret ceremonies and sworn blood oaths of loyalty.

“As we continue our efforts to bring down these groups, we will use all the tools at our disposal, including wiretaps, undercover operations and consensual recordings,” Breuer said.

The arrests follows the roundup of 126 La Cosa Nostra leaders, members and associates in January. In March federal agents brought racketeering charges against key alleged mob members in New England. While fighting traditional organized crime groups, the FBI has had its eye on newer transnational crime groups. In March more than 100 members and associates of these groups, including Armenian Power, were indicted in Los Angeles.

“The life of a mobster has been dramatized in the movies and on TV. But there is nothing entertaining about violence in our communities,” Breuer told reporters. “There is nothing endearing about lives spent pursuing criminal activity, and there is no excuse or honor in favoring allegiance to crime family over the rule of law.”

If there was any remaining doubt that Reggie Rogers should never be allowed to drive a car again, his latest drunk driving charge may have dispensed with it. The disgraced former University of Washington star, NFL bust and chronic inebriate racked up his sixth DUI charge in Tacoma on Friday, capping off a career most noted for a 1988 accident in which a blitzed Rogers crashed his car into another vehicle, killing three teenagers. His fourth and fifth DUIs got him two years in prison. We’ll find out soon what an even half dozen is worth.

The incident happened last Tuesday on Highway 509 and Port of Tacoma Road in Tacoma. It wasn’t reported, however, until Saturday when KOMO News ran a piece a day after Rogers was arraigned at a Pierce County court.

There are no reports of an accident and it appears Rogers was pulled over and arrested at the site.

Rogers is widely considered one of the NFL’s biggest first round draft pick busts.

The All American defensive lineman and former UW basketball star came to the Detroit Lions with high expectations in 1987.

But a year later, after missing games and struggling with addiction, he forever changed his and several others’ lives when he got plastered, ran a stop sign and crashed his car into another car, ending the lives of three teenagers in Pontiac, Mich.

He later tested at more than double the legal blood alcohol limit.

Amid a heap of controversy, Rogers escaped with only a year-long prison sentence.

After his release, he had brief stints with the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he quickly fizzled and dropped out of the league after the 1992 season.

Since coming back to Washington, Rogers has seemingly kept a laser-like focus on trying to break the all-time DUI arrest record. His numbers include the two other most recent incidents on Oct. 17 and Nov. 26 of 2008–both of which involved crashes on Interstate 5 and one in which he apparently tried to flee the scene and later claimed he wasn’t drunk but having a seizure.

At his sentencing hearing for those cases, he reportedly tried to cite his past football glories as reason for leniency.

Per the Seattle Times:

“Stand on my back, like you did when I played college football and basketball when I carried this whole team, this whole state on my back,” Rogers said. “I can do it again if I’m given the chance.”

Between his time in bars, cars, courts and jails he’s also helped to raise six children. And now that he’s got a different DUI arrest story for each one, he seems more than ready to retire behind bars, where he can give the tales added emphasis by recounting them through a prison visitation phone.

White, who’s been dating Sean Penn, was charged with misdemeanor assault and released after allegedly yanking the woman’s hair and striking her face with her hand.

According to witnesses, White walked to 10th Avenue at about 4:50 a.m. to hail a taxi after leaving a Chelsea club. But while standing on the corner of West 17th Street, she got into a dispute with “a 28-year-old woman.”

According to the court complaint, White “pulled the victim’s hair and struck [the victim] numerous times in the face with her hand, causing abrasions, swelling and substantial pain.”

White, a rough-and-tumble native of Buffalo, is no stranger to trouble with the law. According to reports, she once allegedly damaged a girl’s car with a baseball bat during an argument when she was a teenager.

Fashion-industry insiders describe the swimsuit beauty as a “firecracker.” “She was troublesome on shoots,” said one source. “She would chain-smoke on set, snap at the hairdressers and the makeup artists. She changed agencies several times because she’s supposedly difficult to work with.”
